“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Matthew 18:20
In April 2005, the Lord laid it upon the hearts of His servants to reorganize the church which they once called home at 2550 9th Ave South. However, the servants were met with much financial and legal controversy under the name of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. After a time of prayer and constant deliberation; with the help of a few Deacons, Deaconess and other members, the vision of a new beginning and a new name became a reality; New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Under the leadership of Deacon Jim Anderson, Chairman of the Deacon Board and a group of 13 original Deacons and Trustees they remained dedicated to maintaining a remnant of the original congregation to support. The members began holding spiritual meetings at the home of Deacon and Sister Johnnie Jackson.
“But my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
July 2007 - New Pleasant Grove Baptist Church was officially organized by the Reverend Fleming Tarver, Moderator of the Union Foreign Baptist Association. The members continued to support the body of the church at 2550 9th Ave South until the Lord saw fit for the congregation to move to the Enoch Davis Center to worship. Without a pastor, the leadership moved forward to get the church organized. Our new church began meeting for services at the Enoch Davis Center on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month. We were blessed to always have a Minister to bring forth God’s word.

We will always remember him and remember how he always reminded us that we should “always do things decent and in order”no matter what we are going through.
